Positive: A lovely traditional hotel in the heart of the village of Tannheim. We arrived late, after reception hours but the hotel had arranged for us to pick up the key in a lockbox, which worked well. We stayed in a "normal" double room. The room was large with a nice seating area looking up the valley. The furnishings were "traditional" Austrian, which we really liked. The bed was comfortable, and bathroom was fine. The hotel itself, again is very traditional with a nice cozy bar area where you could relax or play the various board games that they have, whilst enjoying a drink. The pool/spa area on the top floor was nice, we just used the pool but people seemed to be using and enjoying the saunas etc. - we were supplied with nice robes to go up to the pool area which was a nice touch. Breakfast was lovely. It was in a large room with plenty of tables. It had the full range of "continental" options you would expect plus bacon and scrambled eggs that us Brits and Americans seem to like. The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout the hotel. Parking was just outside the hotel. We were given a free parking pass on arrival so that was very easy. We had pre-registered with the hotel so were given the Tannheim Card on our first morning. This gives you a free “up and down” ride on the lifts in the valley plus entry to other things, which is a real bonus. Finally, what great place the Tannheimer Tal is for walking. Loved every minute of our hikes, great views, lovely mountain huts, hikes as challenging as you want them. Will definitely return to this hotel.

Negative: Nothing really concerning the hotel. Just generally, Austrian hotels seem to only use 1 pillow. A 2nd pillow each would make things even more comfortable!
