The condo is one story with no steps and no one above or below you. It is 765 square foot with two bathrooms on either side of a bathtub/shower room, so two people sharing the condo can each have their own bathroom. The condo has a laundry room, rather than community laundry, which is rare in centrally located Palm Springs' condos. Additionally, there is both a front patio, and a very private back patio for sunning, which wraparound the end of the complex for a view of the mountains.
The condo complex only has six units and is gated for privacy. The unit comes with one dedicated covered parking space, and it’s own 240 volt charger if you bring an electric vehicle. The Movie Colony Condos has a community pool (unheated) and a spa, at the front of the complex.
Inside the condo is a completely renovated custom kitchen opening to the living room and dining room. The kitchen is fully stocked, with a in-cabinet drawer microwave and a pantry. The living room has a 60 inch TV and double reclining sofa and chair. The bedroom has a 40 inch TV. Both TVs include NetFlix and approximately 20 local channels (including ABC, CBS, NBC). The bed is a split king, adjustable Leggett and Platt with vibrator. The custom closet has a built-in dresser, and there is a desk for your convenience. The upper shades in the bedroom are on remote control, as is the overhead light fixture. The extended sliding door to the patio has adjustable blinds inside.
Don't be fooled by other listings saying they are in or close to downtown. Look on the map. This condo is not a mile from the downtown, or a `pleasant walk' to the downtown--it's in the downtown. You can walk easily to all of downtown Palm Springs, including about 50 restaurants and bars, as well as the Spa Resort Casino (0.7 miles) and the Palm Springs Convention Center (1 mile away). Additionally, just three short blocks from the condo is Ruth Hardy Park with tennis courts, basketball courts, 2 volleyball courts, plus ample picnic tables and parking. Further, four short blocks away is Wellness Park, a 5-acre wellness oasis with a quarter-mile walking/jogging loop, five exercise/fitness stations, and four gardens - meditation, healing, fragrance and a memorial garden.
The Movie Colony Condos is the only condo complex in the area of Palm Springs that forms the Movie Colony. The area took its name from the fact that the studios originally purchased this land and parceled it out to movie stars and the gliterati of the movie industry. Immediately behind the Movie Colony Condos are the homes of Cary Grant, Jack Benny, Harry Cohn, Liberace, Dinah Shore, Marilyn Monroe and Al Jolson, Bob Hope, Carmine Miranda, David O. Selznick and scores of other notables.
In short, this condo is everything one or two people need for a relaxing vacation or escape from the cold weather.
