Positive: Danielle and Jacques were the perfect hosts for our stay in Lapoutroie. If you are after an oasis in Alsace you can’t go wrong. The apartment was large, cosy, clean and well priced. We could even charge our electric car overnight within the parking space.

Negative: Lapoutroie is a small village, so if you want to eat out you need to book in advance. By 10pm the village is silent. The church bells go off throughout the day which adds to the atmosphere of the village, but isn’t conducive to a long lie in.

Summary: A cosy village stay in Alsace managed by lovely local couple
