Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Excellent choice in Gèdre. Note that you need to turn right down a narrow lane just before reaching Gedre (Google maps led us the wrong way). Beautiful woodwork in the room. Excellent building construction. The shower was great, and we could leave some things in the refrigerator downstairs. The continental breakfast was excellent. Just a short walk to the river where it was great to soak our feet after our hike. We appreciated the parking pass so we avoided the fee at Gavarnie while hiking to the cirque de Gavarnie (start by 9am to avoid most of the crowds)

Negative: While there is ventilation there are no opening windows. Our room was beneath the roof and the sloping ceiling was a bit low as we are tall without a lot of room for passing one another - but that is a mild criticism.
