Canton Saint-Valery-en-Caux.Like Saint-Valery, Ingouville entered history in 990 when the Duke of Normandy Richard I donated it to the Abbey of Fécamp at the same time as the privilege of an episcopal exemption conferring certain powers of the Archbishop of Rouen on these parishes. A single noble fief in the parish of Ingouville is mentioned by the register of fiefs di baillage de Caux of 1503. It is owned by Pierre de la Berquerie. By its barony of Vittefleur, the village is restored until 1789 by the same authorities as Saint-Valery to the port of which it lends many sailors.
