Positive: I love this area of Paris, very un-touristy, so I like staying there to be able to dine at real Parisian restaurants away from the tourist crowds. It's also pretty convenient to transportation. The apartment was a find as it's hard to accommodate 10 people in the city, so we were glad to find it.
Negative: This was a doozy. First of all, I was very nervous to pay $1,000 deposit well in advance of anything. I was afraid I was going to get scammed and spoke with Booking several times with conflicting advice to pay or not to pay. Thankfully, everything with that was ok, though it is a lot to ask for a security deposit. The skylight above one of the fold out beds leaked onto the person who was sleeping there and was moldy. Also, you cannot stand in the sitting area as the roof is so low. We had a major panic upon our last leaving for the airport because we couldn't get the door open and were locked in the apartment. This lock had been tricky during our whole stay. After about 1/2 hour of trying, we turned the key and handle so hard we thought it would break, but we were free. I will say, as we telephoned in panic, we did manage to reach someone who was responsive. We didn't know if we were going to have to break the door down. They need to replace that lock immediately, it's a safety hazard.
